Salesforce acquires Informatica

Salesforce announced on November 18, 2025 that the company has formally purchased Informatica, which now becomes a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition follows the definitive agreement communicated in May earlier this year. Through the deal, Salesforce strengthens its position in modern data infrastructure and adds a broad portfolio of features for data catalogs, integration, data quality, metadata and MDM.
Informatica's portfolio becomes a central part of Salesforce's strategy to create a unified data architecture for next-generation AI applications. In particular, the communication from Salesforce highlights how the deal will improve the ability to work with agent-driven AI and scalable management of enterprise data across multiple platforms.
For the market, the deal means that two of the most established players in Data Management and Customer Data are now moving closer together. It also illustrates a clear trend: companies need increasingly integrated and reliable data to succeed in their AI and digitalisation initiatives.
Fiwe follows the development closely and sees that the deal will affect many organizations' technology strategies in the future. As the industry changes, it becomes more important than ever to understand how different systems interact, how data should be structured, and how to build a sustainable data and information architecture over time.
